The Education Minister is due to meet three teacher unions today, after they declared a nationwide strike on Friday over unpaid promotion arrears and other outstanding demands. Cocoa Capital plans to raise up to sixteen-point-three billion cedis to finance cocoa purchases and address existing COCOBOD debt. In football, the Black Stars are preparing to host The Gambia in Accra on Tuesday, after opening their AFCON qualifying campaign with a two-nil defeat in Cote d'Ivoire. The Bank of Ghana's latest interbank mid-rate puts one US dollar at about eleven cedis, sixty-two pesewas. Retail rates may differ.
