CAGD reports promotion arrears paid to 56,003 teachers; other cases remain pending
The department says 56,003 teachers have been paid, but corrections and outstanding GES documentation are still needed for other promoted teachers.
The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department says it has paid promotion-related adjustments and arrears to 56,003 Ghana Education Service teachers. The announcement does not mean every promoted teacher has been paid.
According to the department’s statement, 6,278 received payment in September and 49,725 on 15 October, alongside October salaries. The adjustments cover entitlements effective from 1 January 2026.
Which cases are outstanding?
CAGD says GES submitted supporting records for 56,633 teachers. Of these, 630 cases require corrections after verification. A further 23,367 promoted teachers still await GES processing and submission of their documentation.
The department says eligible outstanding claims will be processed when corrected or complete records are received and verified.
The figures are attributed to CAGD; they should not be treated as independent confirmation of receipt in every individual account.
