Police say calm restored at Larteh Ahenease after Odwira Festival disturbance

The Eastern Regional Police Command says calm has been restored at Larteh in the Eastern Region following disturbances during the Ahenease Odwira Festival on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

In a press release dated October 4, 2026, the Command said additional police personnel had been deployed to intensify security and maintain peace and order in the town.

The police said they would continue engaging stakeholders to ensure peace in Larteh. It added that the Command would deal firmly with individuals who breached the peace in the region.

The statement was signed by Bridget Opoku, Chief Inspector, of the Eastern Regional Police Public Affairs Unit.
