PIAC seeks records for four petroleum-funded projects in Ayawaso West

PIAC says it could not verify four petroleum-funded projects valued at about GH¢21 million and is seeking documentation before final conclusions.

The Public Interest and Accountability Committee says it was unable to verify four petroleum-revenue-funded projects in Ayawaso West during a monitoring exercise.

The projects were reported as having a combined value of about GH¢21 million. PIAC is seeking the relevant documentation before reaching final conclusions about their status.

An inability to verify a project during an inspection does not by itself establish that public money was misused. It signals a documentation and accountability gap that requires clarification from the responsible institutions.

PIAC monitors how Ghana's petroleum revenues are managed and used. Further records or responses from the agencies responsible for the projects will be important to establishing what work was funded and completed.
