The Police identified the suspects as Mahumudu Abdulai, 32, Ganiu Sumaila, 32, and Abdulai Salam, 28. They were arrested at different locations in Sang, in the Mion District, on 29 September 2026.
According to preliminary investigations, four armed men attacked the victim and his brother at their residence on 25 September and abducted him. The suspects allegedly later contacted the victim’s family and demanded GH¢100,000 for his release.
The Police said the victim escaped from his captors and was assisted to safety by farmers in Sambu before being taken to a clinic for medical attention. He reportedly told investigators that he had been held at an undisclosed location under guard by armed men.
The Police said the victim subsequently identified the three arrested suspects from photographs. Investigations have also indicated, according to the Command, that the suspects may be connected to other robbery incidents in the area.
The suspects remain in Police custody assisting investigations. Efforts are continuing to arrest other alleged accomplices and establish the full circumstances of the incident. The suspects have not been convicted of any offence.
