Legal Aid Week reaches its final day with community outreach in focus
The 12–16 October campaign aims to bring legal education closer to communities through mobile clinics at markets and transport hubs.
Ghana’s 2026 Legal Aid Week reaches its scheduled final day on Friday, 16 October, after a campaign designed to take legal education into communities rather than relying only on visits to Commission offices.
At the launch, the Legal Aid Commission set a target of reaching about 20,000 people through mobile legal clinics at markets and transport hubs, according to Ghana News Agency’s 13 October report. That figure is a target, not a verified attendance total.
Confirm arrangements before travelling
Kasoa Market, Tema Station and Kaneshie Market were among the pilot locations mentioned by the Commission. The launch report does not establish that a clinic is operating at each location today, or give a confirmed timetable for Friday.
Anyone seeking assistance should check current arrangements with the Commission before travelling. Availability and eligibility for a particular service should be confirmed directly.
Why outreach matters
Executive Director Edmund Amarkwei Foley said staffing shortages and difficulties reaching offices were limiting access, particularly outside urban centres. The campaign responds to that practical barrier by bringing legal education closer to people’s daily routines.
