Education Minister asks GAUA to resume work on October 19
The Education Minister has asked university administrators to return on October 19, while GAUA seeks a formal commitment on its market-premium demand.
Ghana's Education Minister has appealed to members of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) to end their industrial action and return to work on Monday, October 19.
The appeal forms part of continuing efforts to restore normal administrative services at public universities. GAUA has said it wants a formal commitment on its demand concerning the market premium before calling off the strike.
The two positions mean the proposed return date is a government request, not yet a confirmed end to the action. Students and university staff should therefore rely on official notices from their institutions and the union for changes to campus services.
GH.today will update this report when GAUA announces a formal decision.
